During the 2014 World Cup, Oliseh worked as a member of Fifa’s technical committee, analysing games and preparing match reports. His experience in this area influenced the NFF to name him Nigeria’s head coach last year but only seven months into the job, he resigned after several high profile fall outs with the NFF.

Having quit in anger earlier this year, Oliseh has now rejoined Fifa, where his immediate task shall be working on the 2016 Olympics. As a member of the technical department, he will be compiling match reports in the games during the tournament, including those featuring Nigeria.

Oliseh said: “I am honoured to be appointed into the new look Fifa technical department. Mt next mission is the 2016 Rio Olympics football.”

Originally, Oliseh, a former Super Eagles captain, had been appointed to the Fifa technical study group in March 2013. Oliseh has been keeping himself busy since leaving the Super Eagles job as he was recently seen in Germany where he went to watch the Uefa Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Benfica.
